Ramadan: During the Prophet's time, were women forced to wear Hijab?

In intially no... but then yes... as it was seen as a way to segregate women and keep them under control - and Mohammad's wives were later forced to wear the Burka out of Mohammad's jealousy... He hated when other men looke d at them...
