How Has The Average Americans Life Been Better Since Obama?

I know the stock market has been better since Obama became President and Bin Laden was killed but I don't think this really effects the average Americans daily life. Unemployment is at 9.1% and unemployment for blacks is at 16 %. In some States unemployment is in the double Digits. Gas is close to $4.00 a gallon and food and clothing prices are getting higher and higher as a result. Im curious to see if anyone is better off since Obama became President and how they are better off. Extending the time to collect unemployment does not count.
