What happens if you are a gay Uk Citizen and arrested in another country for it?

Being gay is not illegal, performing a homosexual act is illegal. If they were stupid enough to do this and get caught in said country, whilst it is unlikely a UK citizen would recieve a death sentence because of the commotion this would cause in the UK press etc, they could still recieve a lenghty sentence in prison.
